Welcome to CELLS
CELLS (Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences) is an internationally oriented, interdisciplinary research unit established as a Leibniz Research Initiative by the University of Hannover (LUH). Starting life as the "Medical Law and Bioethics Research Group" in 2007, CELLS was first proposed as a research centre in its own right in an inaugural meeting between researchers at LUH and the then Vice President for Research, Prof. Klaus Hulek, on 10. September 2008. CELLS has grown ever since and is now one of the leading centres for the study of ethical, legal and social implications of life sciences research. We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in the Summer of 2018 with an exciting programme of speakers and events - watch this space!
