Teaching at CELLS

Curricula on ethical and legal aspects of the life sciences are currently being developed for a range of different target groups. It is a medium-term goal to provide certified courses for students and researchers at universities in Hannover and the region as well as for external institutions and for professional development purposes.

Curricula on ethical and legal aspects of the life sciences are currently being developed for a range of different target groups. It is a medium-term goal to provide certified courses for students and researchers at universities in Hannover and the region as well as for external institutions and for professional development purposes.

CELLS members regularly offer courses in the following key areas:

  • biotechnology and health law (Hoppe)
  • ELSI* in the life sciences (Hoppe, Reydon)
  • ethics in science, esp. in the life sciences (Hoppe, Reydon, Knab, Lohse, Wasmer)
  • medical ethics (Hoppe, White)
  • philosophy of biology and biomedicine (Reydon, Lohse, Knab)
  • philosophy of law and social philosophy (Hoppe, Lohse)
  • philosophy of technology (Reydon)
  • political issues in biomedical research and its applications (White)
