Project description

This project will accompany other projects in the field of regenerative medicine with a strong focus on REBIRTH, perform a triage of normative issues flowing from their scientific work, and identify novel ELSI (Ethical, Legal and Social Implications) questions based on current research. Explicit strategies will be developed to address novel normative challenges to find their way into REBIRTH research groups (augmenting translation-readiness). This setting enables the project to perform genuinely evidence-based ELSI research at the highest level.

In particular, legal and ethical questions relating to xenotransplantation are being researched. The aim is to generate new impulses for law, ethics and policy-making in this area.
